   PRAY

 “Arise, cry out in the night, pour out your heart like water

    in the presence of the Lord. Lift up your hands to him
    for the lives of your children.”

Lamentations 2 v 19 (paraphrase)

Our vision

Shortly before lockdown, back in January 2020, we began a group at Dunmurry Presbyterian which was open to Christians of any church background who wanted to join together in prayer for the children in their family.

We recognised the great need to pray for our children for all their different needs, but also realised that with the busy lives we all lead sometimes with the best will in the world, we can forget to turn our concerns over to the Lord.  Therefore, the opportunity to encourage and support one another in prayer was one that many of us welcomed.

And so parents and grandparents met together once a month for tea, coffee and scones in the Coffee Dock area of church to have a chat, to discuss a theme (taken from ‘The Power of a Praying Parent’ book by Stormie Omartian) and to pray with one another.

While it is currently not possible to meet in person to support one another in prayer we believe that more than ever it would be important to show this support to one another in alternative ways. We still have this vision to deepen friendships with other parents/ grandparents/ family members and to raise our prayers to heaven for one another’s families.

Our cares and concerns for our loved ones have not gone away but I am sure for many, if not all of us they have multiplied. So, we hope to continue this support to the best of our ability.

Invitation

 Would you like to join with us? This is what we hope to do;

·         To have a monthly theme for us to reflect on which we will post on the website and also email to you.

·         To set aside an hour or two once a month that we have a virtual prayer time via WhatsApp to share prayer requests, chat together and in whatever way we can to uphold each other in prayer.

If you would like to be a part of this group please contact Kathryn via email “CLICK HERE” with your contact details and tell us why you would like to join with us (If we don’t already know each other)

 God bless you and your family at this time,

Corrina, Kathryn, & Ros.
