It is with great sadness that I have to announce the passing of a very faithful member and someone who I know was a dear friend to many in our church community - Mrs Helen Garrett. Helen passed away peacefully in her own home yesterday morning, 24th November. Although Helen had been unwell for some time, her passing has still come as a shock for the family. Helen will be deeply missed as a relative, friend and for her faithfulness and commitment to her church family as a member and elder.
The funeral service will be on Saturday morning at 9.30am in our church, followed by a brief committal at Knockbreda cemetery. Refreshments will be served afterwards in the church hall. We hold Helen's sister, Lettie, before God in our prayers, as well as the wider family circle and especially all those who were closest to Helen such as her nieces and nephews. We pray God will draw close to them at this very sad time and give them His comfort and strength.

It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of a faithful church member Mr Jackie Stewart. Jackie had been critically ill in hospital for approximately 3 weeks due to a heart attack. Although it initially seemed that he was making progress in the right direction (and he fought hard,) the situation worsened and he passed away in the early hours of Sunday morning (19th September.) The funeral will be this Friday 24th September at 11:00am in our church. It will also be live streamed and you can watch on the link below if you cannot attend in person. On Thursday evening at 7:00pm the bands will be playing 2 hymns outside the Stewart's family home to mark their respect. On Friday after a few prayers, the family will leave their home around 10:30am and make their way as a procession carrying the coffin down Milfort Avenue towards the church. If you know someone in your district or that you are friendly with who would like to know these details please do pass them on. Please keep the family in your prayers. We especially think of Georgie his wife, his children Ian, Gary, Darren and Joanne & their families and his four siblings. May they know God's comfort at this very sad time.

It is with sadness that we have to inform you of the passing of one of our members Mrs Rita Kernaghan (formerly of 30 Thorneligh Drive, latterly of Nicholson House). Rita's health had begun to decline in recent days and we thankfully had the opportunity to meet with Rita to speak with her, read scripture together and to pray in her last few days - something that we have been unable to do for quite some time because of Covid restrictions. She passed away peacefully in Nicholson House on Friday 23rd July and the family are currently making arrangements for the funeral to take place in a local funeral home - attendance will be limited due to Covid restrictions.
Please keep her husband Stanley and children Randall and Avril and the rest of the family in your prayers during this very difficult time.
